how do people choose their supermarkets?

I go to a nearby grocery regularly and although the stocks are kind of limited,I would frequent the place since it's very near our apartment. If I have to buy something that's not available then I go elsewhere.

How do you choose your supermarket/ grocery?

Is it by:
a. location
b. selection of goods
c. prices of goods
d. ambiance
e. other features

Since I live in an area where three malls converge, I usually pick the one with the best meat/seafood/produce selection. But if I'm getting the usually pantry items such as milk, eggs, sugar, etc., I usually go for the one with the best prices. :)

I'm quite particular also about the value-added services such as supermarkets with nice and clean carts, polite and friendly cashiers, efficient baggers, skilled butchers, etc. And oh, I like it too if they make sure to give exact change. :)

Convenience. I go to the ones near me. I factor the cost of gas/parking into any 'cheaper' supermarkets that are farther so it doesn't become cost effective to drive far away to save P5 on groceries if it costs me P100 in gas + parking.

There are 2 groceries near your place... the bigger one is just a little further down to walk, but close enough...and that is actually one of my preferred groceries.
